Since the promulgation of the Compulsory Education Information Technology Curriculum Standards in 2022, the teaching of “information technology” in junior high schools has shifted from focusing on skill training to emphasizing the cultivation of students core subject literacy. Taking “Zhihuaxing—initial experience of Python programming” as an example, this article focuses on teaching core competencies in the course of “information technology”. The teaching strategy of “observation and analysis, abstract generalization, transfer application” is adopted to design interrelated learning activities and learning scaffolds, encouraging students to “learn by doing”, “learn by using”, and “learn by creating”, allowing them to construct knowledge through practical operation. This not only highlights the subjectivity of students, but also pays attention to their thinking development.
